If it is equipped with a machine tool loading and unloading device, the profiling machine tool can realize stand-alone automation or be included in an automatic production line. Some general-purpose machine tools can also achieve profiling after the profiling device is attached. The profiling movement can be divided into plane profiling and three-dimensional profiling. The machining accuracy of the profiling machine tool varies with the cutting amount, generally within the range of ±0.1 to ±0.03 mm, and the surface roughness is generally Ra5 to 1.25 microns.
- Development
In 1578, J. Besson of France used the profiling method to process wooden ornaments and threads for the first time. After that, machine tools for mechanical profiling appeared and were promoted in the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, profiling machine tools with electromechanical servo systems appeared. In 1923, the production of electric contact copying milling machines began. In the 1930s, Switzerland, Germany and the United States successively produced hydraulic profiling devices, and then underwent a series of improvements.
- Working principle
1. First, place the metal workpiece to be processed on the machine table and fix it with a fixture.
2. Next, install the milling cutter on the machine tool spindle, and adjust the position and angle of the milling cutter for processing.
3. Before processing, the shape and size of the milling cutter need to be adjusted to match the shape and size of the workpiece to be processed.
4. When machining starts, the machine tool spindle starts to rotate, and the milling cutter cuts along the workpiece surface to a certain depth to achieve the desired shape and size.
5. During the machining process, both the machine tool spindle and the worktable can perform various movements in order to complete complex machining tasks.
6. After the processing is completed, the workpiece is removed from the machine tool, and the necessary follow-up processing is carried out, such as grinding, polishing, etc. In short, the automatic copy milling machine realizes the processing of metal workpieces by rotating the milling cutter and adjusting the position of the machine tool spindle and worktable, so as to achieve the required shape and size
